(More customer reviews)I never have been crazy about the looks of a saddle shoe but somehow over years it has grown on me to a point where I bought this shoe recently. Great shoe. The style looks much better (and understated) than I was expecting. Very happy with the looks of the shoe.
The shoe is a made of what seems to me to be a really good grade of leather. I got the walnut/brown combination and just as with my other walnut AE shoes, there is a slight color variation within the walnut that's subtle and really good looking. This is my 4th pair of AE shoes and I plan to keep on adding more to the collection based on my experience with the brand so far. This is my first time trying out their "double oak" sole, which has a very solid/study feel to it. I'll be looking to add more of their "double oak" leather sole shoes in the future as well.
It is a very comfortable shoe, but definitely has a break in period. For me the shoe was comfortable after 1 day of wearing them, and has just been getting better from there on (YMMV on the break in time).
Really happy with this shoe.
