The description of this item touts this satchel as being an EXACT replica of the one Alan wears in The Hangover. It is very close to being an exact replica, but it is not quite exact. There are some small, subtle differences that are really only noticable if you look at a picture of Alan wearing it in the film.
The satchel in the film is called "The Satchel in Vintage Tribe Leather" made by Roots, a Canadian clothing and lifestyle company. It can be purchased directly from the Roots website; be warned - it will set you back a LOT of money. It'll cost you 6X the amount of money this replica will cost.
The differences between this, the replica, and the actual are as follows:
-slightly lighter brown (and less shiny) leather on the replica than the actual
-front pockets on the right hand side close to the left on the replica, whereas they close to the right on the actual
-pocket zippers are solid brass on the replica; on the actual they have leather "flags" attached to the zippers
This replica is also solidly made, so it doesn't look to be prone to falling apart easily.
If you are buying this for a halloween costume, chances are, this will be just fine. Like I mentioned, you really have to look close to notice the differences. However, if you are looking for the truly authentic satchel, but the Roots product.
